Overview
Our lab's research interests are in the field of enzymology, chemical biology, microbiology, and metabolomics. We investigate enzymes involved in a variety of metabolic pathways found in human and soil microbiomes. The lab is particularly interested in understanding the roles of gut microbial enzymes in the physiology of the microbe and the host. Basic understanding of reaction catalyzed by these enzymes can enable development of tools to engineer a beneficial microbiome to combat different types of diseases.
